What Adobe gives you free
- Signing your own PDF. Adobe’s online Fill & Sign tool lets you fill in a PDF and add your signature at no cost. You sign in to an Adobe account to finish and download it.
- Two signature requests every 30 days. In Adobe’s words: “With a free Acrobat account, you can complete two request e-signatures transactions every 30 days on a rolling basis.” Rolling means the count looks back 30 days from today rather than resetting on the first of the month.
- Signing what others send you. The people you send to sign free, with nothing to download and no account to create.
- Acrobat Reader, for opening and reading PDFs, is free.
Where free stops
A third request inside 30 days needs a paid Acrobat plan. There is no free plan for Acrobat Sign, the business e-signature product: it is sold through Adobe’s sales team without a published price.
Acrobat Pro has a seven-day free trial that includes sending for signature. Adobe asks for a payment method to start it and charges it when the trial ends unless you cancel.

Adobe’s Australian prices include GST. The first column is the monthly price on an annual plan; the second is paying month to month with no annual commitment.
