Flatmate, lease and other personal agreements
Refrendo works the same way for a purchase order or a share house agreement. You upload the PDF, add the people by name and email, place a signature and date field for each of them, and send. They sign on their phone without an account.
A few things are worth knowing for personal documents:
- Add yourself as a recipient if you are signing too. Select Add myself on the recipients step.
- How many people can be on one request depends on your plan. A share house of four needs a plan that allows four recipients, so check the plan before you build the request.
- When the last person signs, everyone on the request is emailed a link to download the completed PDF and, unless the sender turned it off, the certificate. The link works for seven days, so download your copy straight away: that is your record, whatever happens to the account later.
Documents that need more than a signature
Wills, many statutory declarations, some powers of attorney, and anything going to a court or a land titles office have their own rules about witnessing and form, and signing them on an e-signature platform, witnessed or not, generally doesn’t meet those rules. Check what your document needs first.
Signing a residential tenancy agreement does not lodge the bond. That goes to your state or territory bond authority through their own process.
